Bruce uses a variety of methods to communicate with participants.
He provides handouts for most of his classes. Many of his classes are hands on. He often leads other classes in exercises so that they learn by experience, and then leads a discussion of what they have done. He sometimes stands on a chair to make sure everyone can see what he is doing. When they are available, he uses document viewers or Powerpoint. If somebody needs individual help that he cannot provide in the class room, Bruce invites them to come to his dealer table where he gives them individual help. He knows that it can be difficult to learn how to do something while facing the instructor, so sometimes he turns his back and holds things over his head or stands side by side with the student. If somebody purchases something from his dealer table, he gives them individual instruction at his table to be sure they can perform it.
Bruce is a popular variety arts instructor. He has taught at many regional conventions for clowns and magicians, including those sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Magicians. He was also staff member for weekend Clown Camp on the Road programs.

Only four other speakers were chosen from around the world. Bruce was the only person to both speak and perform at the congress.)
